Mesh is published by KeepOK Consultoria Ltda ("we"), the controller responsible for this app. Mesh connects your own devices to each other. The short version: there is no Mesh server and no Mesh account, we do not collect your data, and the app contains no analytics, advertising or trackers.
What stays on your devices
- Your network's key and device list — the names, addresses and settings of your own devices. They are stored on each device.
- Settings and counters — ad-blocking lists you chose, your own allowed and blocked sites, how many lookups were blocked.
- Files you send between your devices — they go straight from one device to the other, encrypted, and land in that device's inbox. We never see them.
Between your devices
Your devices find each other and talk directly. Connections are encrypted between the devices. When two devices cannot reach each other directly, another device of yours may pass the (still encrypted) traffic along. Only devices of your own network do this; there are no public relays run by us or by strangers.
The network permission
Mesh asks iOS to add a VPN configuration. It is used only to carry traffic between your devices, to answer .mesh names and block ads in DNS, and — only if you choose it — to send your internet traffic out through one of your own devices. Your traffic is not sent to us. Mesh also uses the local network (Bonjour) to find nearby devices when you add one.
DNS and ad blocking
Lookups are answered on your device. Lookups that are not blocked are forwarded to a public DNS service: by default Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) and Quad9 (9.9.9.9); if you pick an encrypted option (Cloudflare, Quad9, Google or your own address) they go there instead. Those services process the lookups under their own policies. Ad-blocking lists are downloaded from public list providers, who can see the request.
Optional sign-in
- iCloud Keychain — if you turn it on, your network's key is kept in your iCloud Keychain, encrypted by Apple, so your other Apple devices can join. Turning it off removes it.
- Google Drive — if you choose "Continue with Google" or "Keep a copy in my Google Drive", Mesh asks Google only for access to this app's private folder in your Drive and stores a login code there. Mesh cannot see the rest of your Drive.
Children
Mesh is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly handle their data.
Your rights
Under the Brazilian LGPD, the GDPR and similar laws you may ask about, correct or delete personal data. Because we hold none, you can remove everything yourself: leave the network in Settings, or delete the app. To remove the key from iCloud or Google Drive, turn the option off in Settings or delete the item in your account.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
